Job Description

This role leads the real-time control and operations of the transmission network, ensuring safe and effective operation within engineering principles, rules, regulations, and contracts.

  • The individual will oversee the monitoring, control, and response functions of the 24/7 transmission operation control room and real-time activities.
  • They will ensure optimum network performance with timely network security decisions, work coordination, operational switching, and safe program delivery.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead a team in the real-time control and operations of the Victorian Transmission network.
  2. Oversee the monitoring, control, and response functions of the TOC room and real-time activities.
  3. Ensure optimal network performance and make timely network security decisions.
  4. Collaborate with stakeholders on Transmission Operational Planning.
  5. Drive for improved network outcomes in the NEM while maintaining compliance.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in the transmission network environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Australian transmission network and the role of the TNSP within the NEM.
  • Understanding of outage standards and network incentive schemes.
  • Ability to think strategically and align with corporate objectives.
  • Strong people leadership skills.
