Job Description

The Defence Simulation Interactor plays a pivotal role in delivering realistic synthetic training events that replicate real-world maritime warfare scenarios. This position requires a strong grasp of ADF tactics, the ability to think quickly in dynamic situations, and interpersonal skills to engage with military personnel at all levels.

This involves exercising tactical accuracy while performing as a Professional Interactor, supporting customer personnel to achieve maritime warfare training outcomes.

Delivering blue-force and/or red-force interactor functions, applying knowledge of Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW), Anti-Air Warfare (AAW), Anti-Surface Warfare (ASuW), Electronic Warfare (EW), and Air Space Management are key responsibilities of this role.

The Defence Simulation Interactor must be able to execute and coordinate synthetic training events, operate simulation systems within EXCON/SIMCON environments, provide realistic role-play for training scenarios, and contribute to pre- and post-event exercise documentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Tactical expertise in ADF operations
  • Simulation skills and experience in military training environments
  • Knowledge of current ADF simulation doctrine, tactics, and procedures
  • Australian citizenship with current NV1 clearance (ability to upgrade to NV2)
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a matrix team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure
  • Eligibility to access ITAR-controlled information
