About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Team Leader to join our team in Australia. As a key member of our GIS practice, you will be responsible for leading a team of GIS specialists and collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate GIS solutions into our organizational workflows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of GIS specialists to ensure alignment with company strategy and vision.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement GIS solutions that meet client needs.
  • Provide technical support to the GIS team and broader business.
  • Liaise with internal and external subject matter experts to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Participate in core spatial tasks such as cartographic figure production, spatial database management, and ad-hoc GIS support.
  • Develop and create GIS solutions to aid stakeholders, clients, and users in understanding geospatial information.
  • Initiate and manage geospatial business development opportunities and establish strong relationships with clients.
  • Coordinate resource and technical development requirements with Practice Leaders and other Team Leaders.
Requirements
  • Qualification in GIS, Geology, Geography, Geomatics, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • 7 years' experience working in GIS, preferably in a consultancy environment.
  • Experience working with GIS platforms, the ESRI software suite, and ArcGIS Online.
  • Familiarity with FME and visual programming fundamentals for data manipulation is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
