Job Description: Our client is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineering Technician to join their dynamic team. As a key member of the engineering group, you will work closely with Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists to support the design, fabrication, and installation of mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & Drafting Support: Prepare detailed technical drawings, plans, and 3D models for mechanical systems, ensuring alignment with engineering specifications and client requirements.
  • Fabrication & Installation: Assemble, install, and modify mechanical components, machine tools, and control systems, with a focus on steel fabrication and structural integrity.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance: Conduct field and laboratory tests to evaluate system performance, collecting and analysing data to optimise mechanical functionality.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Qualifications: Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field.

Experience: 1+ years in a mechanical engineering technician role, preferably within steel fabrication, industrial plant, or heavy machinery sectors.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks), hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and mechanical troubleshooting.

Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret technical drawings, perform calculations, and generate reports.

Communication: Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, fabricators, and project managers.
