Interior Design Consultant Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Interior Design Consultant to join our team. As an interior design consultant, you will play a key role in providing exceptional customer service and support to clients as they navigate the interior design process.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop customized approaches for selecting interior and external details, material specifications, color lighting/electrical requirements, spatial planning, and knowledge of design criteria to achieve the style and substyles chosen by the client
  • Interpret client needs and create detailed design concepts and contract documents
  • Write specifications covering interior design matters, and perform building code reviews
  • Provide on-the-spot pricing and estimating
  • Work collaboratively and coordinate work with other disciplines
Key Qualifications:
  • 2+ years experience working in a similar role
  • Certificate in Interior Design and Decoration or other relevant tertiary qualification
  • Commitment to providing excellence in customer service and strong communication skills
  • Experience in interior design or color consulting ideally within the residential building industry
  • An ability to read and understand floor plans and housing contracts and up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, codes, and industry trends
  • Attention to detail and strong record-keeping, planning, and organizing
