Are you a skilled professional looking to leverage your expertise in building compliance? Woollahra Council is seeking a highly motivated Building Compliance Officer to join our team on a permanent full-time basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive compliance investigations, managing and assessing Complying Developments and Part 6 Certificate Applications, and providing Principal Certifying Services to customers involved in building construction.

To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will possess:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Building Surveying or a recognised equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of relevant building and planning legislation, including NSW regulations.
  • Proven experience in the management of investigations and enforcement action, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional customer service, with a proactive approach to resolving issues.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team environment.
  • A current Class C driver's licence, with a strong emphasis on road safety.
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) principles, with a focus on promoting a safe working environment.
