Senior Accountant

The administered financial statements team plays a pivotal role in Treasury's operations, responsible for delivering high-quality financial reports and providing strong leadership to a small team. The key functions of the team include:
- Secretariat to the Financial Statements and Annual Performance Statements sub-committee
- Accounting records, including monthly reconciliations
- Monthly and Annual reporting to Finance
- Payments to the States and Territories with Commonwealth-State Relations Branch
- Accounting advice, including investments in International Financial Institutions
- Appropriation and cash management
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing daily administered transactions, including cash management and approval processes.
To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will possess:
- Demonstrated analytical skills and strong written and verbal communication skills
- Capacity for leading and delivering high-quality advice in a complex environment
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting and/or commerce are considered essential
- A professional accounting qualification is highly desirable
