Academic Opportunities in Applied and Pure Mathematics
Research Associate Role OverviewThe School of Mathematics and Statistics is committed to advancing knowledge in the areas of applied and pure mathematics, as well as statistics. As a Research Associate, you will contribute to the research effort of our institution, developing your expertise through the pursuit of defined projects relevant to Australian Research Council Discovery Projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Contribute to the research effort of the School of Mathematics and Statistics through the development of research projects
- Develop research expertise relevant to Australian Research Council Discovery Projects
To be successful in this role, you will have a strong academic background in mathematics or a related field. You should also possess excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with academics and staff.
Benefits:This Research Associate position offers a fixed-term contract of 2.5 years, with a possibility of extension based on performance and funding. The role is full-time, with an estimated 35 hours per week commitment. Additionally, you will be entitled to annual leave loading and superannuation benefits.
Teaching OpportunitiesAs part of your role, you may be required to contribute to the teaching effort of the School of Mathematics and Statistics through limited teaching commitments (no more than 15% of your total time). This will provide you with valuable experience in research-related undergraduate subjects.
