About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Feature Technician to join our team at Melbourne Parks and Gardens. As a key member of our Water Management Team, you will be responsible for maintaining all water assets to the highest standard, exceeding contract standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain all water assets, including fountains, ponds, and associated equipment
  • Service and maintain UV lamps, aerators, filters, and pumps
  • Regularly test and chemical dose water to maintain water quality and chemical balance
  • Undertake major cleans and repairs of water features on a scheduled basis or as required
  • Assist in all areas of the Water Team as required, including plumbing, irrigation, and storm water
  • Accurately keep required records and report all issues, defects, and repairs promptly
  • Work safely at all times and undertake confined space entry
  • Fault find and diagnostic work to trace, identify, and scope issues for repair
  • Assist the Water Manager to quote new or reinstated works as requested
  • Liaise with sub-contractors and supervise works carried out
Requirements
  • Current driver's licence
  • Trade Certificate in Plumbing, Water Chemistry, or equivalent
  • Experience maintaining water features, fountains, or similar assets
  • Skills in irrigation system maintenance
  • Ability to recognise water quality issues
  • OHS&E awareness
