Job Title: Venue Leader Sunbury

Hume City Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Venue Leader to join our team in Sunbury. As a Venue Leader, you will be responsible for the coordination and smooth running of events at facilities within Sunbury and surrounding suburbs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and support the efficient operation of facilities, including the Hume Global Learning Centre (HGLC) - Sunbury.
  • Develop and implement a Venue Strategic and Operational Plan to deliver high-quality, accessible facilities and services that meet the priorities of the local community.
  • Support the promotion of Venue programs and activities through community engagement and communications.
  • Oversee the delivery of conference and customer-related services, including venue promotion, conference equipment, and supervision of conference facilities.
  • Assist with supplier and contractor liaison, including caterers, laundry suppliers, builders, and AV technicians.
  • Provide support and assistance with security arrangements to ensure the safety of facilities and staff.
  • Ensure purchases of equipment and supplies are necessary, within allocated budgets, and made in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Assist with the provision of specialist advice to hirers and users regarding booking of facilities.
  • Assess bookings for issues that should be raised with Team Leader Venues and Operations.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in venue management or a related discipline, with experience in facility management or substantial relevant experience in operations and facility management.
  • Experience in managing facilities, including maintenance, contractor/supplier liaison, and creating a positive experience for clients.
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deal with difficult customers and present a positive council image.
  • Ability and experience in event supervision, including assigning tasks to staff, stock management, client liaison, and supplier management.
  • Experience in providing high-level customer service to a diverse range of people from different backgrounds and cultures.
  • Demonstrated skills in managing time, setting priorities, and managing multiple tasks or projects simultaneously.
  • Current Victorian Driver's Licence.
