Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Risk & Compliance Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in risk management, compliance, and assurance.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our business operations, ensuring that all regulatory standards and compliance requirements are met.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Risk Management: Collaborate with the business to embed a general understanding of our risk appetite, drive discussions around managing risks per appetite, and assist in implementing systems, processes, and procedures that support appropriate risk and compliance outcomes.
  • Compliance Frameworks: Implement and support compliance frameworks, including plans, policies, procedures, controls, and registers.
  • Training and Education: Deliver training and education campaigns to promote risk and compliance understanding across teams.
  • Monitoring and Investigations: Lead second-line monitoring activities, including file reviews and investigations into breaches, complaints, and incidents.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 5+ years experience in risk, compliance, and/or assurance, preferably in wealth management or with regulators.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of Wholesale and Retail regulatory environments within Australia.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage expectations and communicate complex information.
  • Risk Management Frameworks: Knowledge of risk and compliance management frameworks and local financial services laws and regulations.
