Forensic Mental Health Researcher

We are seeking a highly motivated and competitive candidate to undertake a Doctoral research project in Forensic Behavioural Science, with a focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health. The scholarship is funded by the Centre for Forensic Behavioural Science, Swinburne University of Technology, and the Victorian Institute of Forensic Mental Health (Forensicare).
Project OverviewThe successful candidate will work closely with the Centre for Forensic Behavioural Science and Forensicare to develop a research project that addresses critical issues in forensic mental health care. The project will focus on improving services, partnerships, and outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals and communities.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research in Forensic Behavioural Science, with a focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health
- Develop and implement a research project that addresses critical issues in forensic mental health care
- Work closely with the Centre for Forensic Behavioural Science and Forensicare to achieve collaborative outcomes
- Communicate effectively with external research partner agencies
- Meet the entry requirements for the relevant Higher Degree by Research at Swinburne University of Technology
- Bachelor degree honours and/or a research master's degree in psychological sciences, health sciences, population and global health, or a related field
- First Class Honours (average grade 80-100) or equivalent
- Demonstrated capacity to complete writing tasks to an excellent standard and strong verbal communication skills
- High level of comfort working with sensitive topics and diverse cultural groups
