Business Studies Leader

The Victorian Institute of Technology is a dual sector education provider committed to providing students with the best possible educational opportunities and outcomes.

We seek a Business Studies leader to join our well-established Faculty of Business.

The appointee will provide leadership for the business discipline covering undergraduate and postgraduate courses at our campuses and online.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing leadership for the business discipline ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and compliance with quality and governance frameworks.
  • Supervising and coordinating courses across various campuses.
  • Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
  • Supporting senior leadership in fostering an academic scholarship culture.
  • Maintaining effective communication with faculty staff, students, and external stakeholders.
  • Participating in governance committees and activities.
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to faculty members.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum 3 years' leadership experience.
  • Ability to manage and build strong teams in a collegiate environment aligning with strategic objectives.
  • Contribution to organizational strategic goals and shared objectives.

Teaching Experience:

  • Knowledge of curriculum planning, content delivery, and assessment in the relevant field.
  • Experience in teaching and assessing higher education students including international students.

External Relations:

  • Experience working with partner organizations, industry, and community groups.
  • Ability to develop educational networks domestically and internationally.

Personal Attributes and Qualifications:

  • Doctoral qualification or equivalent or a combination of Master's qualification and experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Scholarly engagement in a discipline relevant to VIT.
