Operational Forecasting Specialist:

  • Manage real-time electricity system operations across Australia.
  • Develop and refine operational forecasting models for electricity demand, rooftop PV, grid-scale solar farms, and wind farms.
  • Collaborate closely with weather providers and control rooms to analyze weather risks and their system impacts.
  • Coordinate tools, data, and forecasting processes between the National Electricity Market (NEM) and Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM).
  • Contribute energy and weather insights into operational advisories, power system incident reviews, and market reports.
Key Responsibilities">
  • Develop and implement advanced data analysis and statistical modeling techniques to support forecasting accuracy.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure effective communication of forecasting results and recommendations.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate forecasting performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
Requirements">
  • Qualifications in a relevant scientific or mathematical discipline.
  • Proven experience in energy sector operations, forecasting, or analytical roles.
  • Excellent communication skills, including preparing high-quality reports and presentations.
  • Strong understanding of data analysis and statistical modeling principles.
