The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled GP to join our clinical team in Lightning Ridge, providing essential healthcare services to the local community. As a GP VMO, you will be an integral part of our team, working alongside other GPs and a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.

The role offers a variety of GP sessions, ED cover, ward rounds, and on-call work, all shared across the service to ensure adequate rest periods. Our multi-purpose service has 4 ED beds, 4 Acute beds, 1 respite bed, and a 19-bed residential aged care service. The General Practice operates Monday to Friday, with mobile x-ray and visiting allied health specialists coming to town.

The Location

Lightning Ridge is a thriving mining town, situated near the NSW and QLD border. It's a 4-hour drive from Dubbo Airport and is known for its unique experiences, including a glass house made from bottles, an iron church, and an underground museum with art carved into the stone walls.

Essential Criteria

To be successful in this role, you must be a vocationally registered GP (FRACGP or FACRRM) with recent rural emergency experience and a current ALS2 (or equivalent) certificate.
