Regional Project Controls Manager

Wood is seeking a highly experienced Regional Project Controls Manager to join our Operations business in Perth, Australia. This is a permanent role available as a full-time or part-time (job share) basis.
The successful candidate will be a multidisciplinary functional leader across all of project controls, responsible for supporting and assuring delivery excellence for the Operations Asia Pacific business. Key responsibilities include functional management and development of project control resources, governance of project control practices and procedures, and functional oversight of the performance of all project control work.
Wood's Operations business delivers brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimisation, and technical services to the Oil & Gas industry, with long-term partnerships with prominent producers across Australia and Asia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day management of the Corporate Project Controls function
- Provision of Planning & Scheduling, Post Tender Estimating, Cost Management, Risk Analysis, Change Control, and associated reporting to individual contracts across the APAC region
- Governance, Compliance & Continuous Improvement: implementation and monitoring of compliance against minimum standards, driving continuous improvement, and collecting best practice across projects and communicating across the wider business
- Assurance: monitoring data and taking appropriate interventions to ensure that projects which pose risk in terms of givebacks / value are mitigated before a threat to project delivery is realised
- Resourcing: tactical planning and resourcing of the project control function across APAC, aiming to attract and develop required skills and maximise utilisation
Requirements:
- Proven experience within a similar Project Controls Manager role, underpinned by 20+ years of relevant onshore & offshore project experience (design to implementation) supporting a complex portfolio within the Oil & Gas sector
- Advanced level of expertise across all disciplines of project controls, typically gained by a significant number of years industry experience within Project Control
- Excellent understanding of the principles and techniques of both Project Management & Project Controls: Planning, Cost Control, Estimating, Change Control, Risk Analysis
- Articulate communicator (both written and verbal) including well-developed technical report writing and professional presentation skills
- Leader of people, capable of influencing, coaching, and engendering an entrepreneurial spirit of cooperation to energise diverse teams to adopt best practice, with safety at the heart of everything we do
- Customer-focused with an ability to develop trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, while balancing operational excellence to contribute to the competitive advantage of #teamwood
