Field Service Technician Job Description

Main Responsibilities:

  • Vehicle System Modification and Repair: Modify and repair vehicle systems, including chassis, drivelines, engines, transmissions, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrics.
  • Hydraulic Hose and Component Manufacturing: Manufacture and fit hydraulic hoses, valves, and components.
  • Mechanical Hydraulic Testing and Adjustment: Test and adjust mechanical hydraulics, circuits, and pneumatic components.
  • Critical Mechanical Inspection and Recording: Inspect, analyze, and record critical mechanical information during refurbishment work.
  • Component Cutting and Fitting: Cut, grind, drill, weld, and manufacture small components for machine fitting.
  • Commissioning and Training: Commission and train mine site personnel on vehicle systems.
  • Quality and Safety Compliance: Ensure all work meets quality and specification requirements and is completed on time.
  • Maintenance of Tools and Equipment: Maintain tools and equipment to a high standard.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Work professionally within teams and autonomously with internal and external customers and subcontractors.
  • Continuous Improvement: Report non-conforming issues and contribute to continuous improvement through the Feedback System.
  • Safety Standards Compliance: Maintain 100% safety standards compliance.
  • Schedule Delivery and Quality Audit Compliance: Achieve 95% schedule delivery and 90% or higher quality audit compliance.
  • Equipment Downtime: Minimize equipment downtime to 5% or less.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in vehicle system modification and repair.
  • Experience in hydraulic hose and component manufacturing.
  • Ability to test and adjust mechanical hydraulics, circuits, and pneumatic components.
  • Strong inspection and recording skills.
  • Physical stamina for manual labor and working at heights.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
