Payroll Specialist

We encourage people with diverse backgrounds to apply for this role. Are you a payroll professional with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for getting things right? We're looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to join our team on a 12-month fixed term contract. This role is focused on supporting remediation efforts across a range of payroll matters while also providing end-to-end payroll coverage across multiple pay cycles.

  • Support payroll remediation initiatives by identifying, correcting, and helping prevent payroll discrepancies.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance across weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls.
  • Maintain a strong understanding and application of relevant legislation, modern awards, and enterprise agreements.
  • Deliver payroll services in line with best practice and internal standards to uphold payroll integrity.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (HR, Finance, Legal) to ensure correct payroll processing and record keeping.
  • Assist with audits, reporting, and ongoing process improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of hands-on payroll experience, ideally within medium to large organisations.
  • Experience with Large ERPs preferably SuccessFactors, ECP, SAP ECC.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, superannuation, modern awards, and EAs.
  • Experience supporting payroll compliance or remediation projects is highly regarded.
  • Solid accounting knowledge or qualifications (e.g. Cert IV or higher in Payroll/Accounting).
  • Proven ability to work accurately under pressure, handle confidential information with integrity, and adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
