
Bushfire Mitigation Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Bushfire Mitigation Specialist to lead our team in delivering high-quality bushfire mitigation maintenance services to the community.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of bushfire mitigation practices, including mechanical, chemical, and hazard reduction burning. They will also possess strong leadership skills, innovation, and the ability to meet performance targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise internal work teams and external contractors to ensure a proactive, high-quality, and cost-effective bushfire mitigation maintenance service.
- Lead the team to meet performance targets and support ongoing improvement through employee performance and professional development reviews.
- Develop and implement bushfire mitigation work programs and treatment schedules.
- Provide expert advice on bushfire mitigation practices, including mechanical, chemical, and hazard reduction burning.
- Communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation and the community it serves.
Requirements:
- Qualification in Conservation Land Management/Environmental Science/Horticulture or demonstrated learned knowledge through substantial experience working within these fields.
- Construction Induction Training (White Card).
- Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) Volunteer Fire fighting training courses inclusive of Bushfire Fundamentals, Bushfire Safety Awareness, Firefighting Skills.
