Law Graduate Development Program

We are seeking high-achieving law graduates to join our Canberra office on a 12-month Graduate Development Program. This program offers exposure to diverse practice areas, allowing you to develop your skills and find your preferred area of law.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for final year law students who excel, are client-focused and commercially-minded to develop their legal careers with a major corporate firm. You will have the chance to work on high-quality assignments across various industries, gaining valuable experience and building relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Rotate through three practice areas, learning diverse skills and finding your preferred area of law
  • Participate in a tailored induction program to support your start
  • Engage in the New Lawyer Training series, covering topics such as 'Preparing for Court', 'Client Service Skills' and 'Personal Reputation'
  • Attend firm-wide CPD seminars to enhance your knowledge
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will be self-motivated, confident and able to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. You should possess strong prioritization and multi-tasking skills, as well as:

  • Strong university academic results, preferably with a relevant second degree qualification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Commercial acumen
  • A high level of attention to detail
