Clinical Specialist in Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus Prevention
About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Specialist to join our team. This role will provide clinical leadership and expertise in sexual health and blood borne virus prevention and management.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide specialist knowledge, skills and attributes within a defined practice area in therapeutic and professional relationships with individuals, families, groups and communities.
- Be recognised by the team for their expertise, be a resource for others, and engage in agreed independent practice under the supervision and management of the team.
- Accountable for providing sound professional advice and for assessment, planning, review, evaluation and coordination of comprehensive client care and/or case management within the speciality area.
- Demonstrate NTH values - safe; responsive; kind - in all decision-making and interactions with consumers and colleagues.
- Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
- Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
- Current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or eligible for same.
- Demonstrated highly-developed clinical knowledge and skills in relevant area of nursing/midwifery supporting well developed clinical decision-making and problem solving to achieve best practice outcomes for healthcare consumers.
- Demonstrate and promote a learning environment through clinical support, instruction, and feedback including mentoring students, graduates and less experienced staff across the multidisciplinary team.
- Experience contributing to the development and implementation of local/regional policy, including interpreting established professional precedents and organisational policies and supporting change management.
- Demonstrated use of effective communication skills to influence and convince staff and/or clients, including on sensitive matters requiring tact and diplomacy.
- Demonstrates well-developed knowledge and understanding of the social and cultural issues, influences and sensitivities that influence health care provision for clients and families.
