Job Title

A Senior Security Manager position is available to lead and manage the security function across an organization.

The role will involve implementing and overseeing policies and programs, providing professional guidance and support to relevant internal client groups, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in managing secure facilities, strong consulting and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Minimum 7+ year's strategic Senior Manager, Security or Chief Security Officer experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures contained within the Defence Security Manual (DSM) and other authoritative sources.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Security Clearance (NV2).
About This Role

This Senior Security Manager role is a key position in an organization's security framework. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Implementing and maintaining security policies and procedures.
  • Providing security awareness training and championing a positive security culture.
  • Managing security incidents and emergencies, and establishing monitoring mechanisms across the organization.
  • Ensuring effective information sharing within the organization and with authorized vetting agencies.
  • Managing the entity's certification and accreditations in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Implement the requirements of the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) within the organization.
  2. Effectively set the strategic direction for the organization's protective security planning and risk management.
  3. Champion a positive security culture that is supported by effective security awareness training.
  4. Embed efficient and effective security management, awareness, and practices.
  5. Manage the organization's response to security-related crises, manage security performance to achieve required protections, manage incidents and emergencies, and establish monitoring mechanisms across the organization.
  6. Ensure effective information sharing within the organization and with authorized vetting agencies.
  7. Manage the entity's certification and accreditations in accordance with the PSPF and regulatory requirements.
