The Aboriginal Strategy and Partnerships Lead role is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of local Indigenous communities. This position will be a key driver of our Closing the Gap strategy, leading initiatives to embed culture and develop impactful policies that positively affect community outcomes.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and culturally connected individual to join our team and contribute to our organisational cultural capability and connection to the Aboriginal community. As the Aboriginal Strategy & Partnerships Lead, you will:

  • Lead and drive our progress in achieving our Closing the Gap targets
  • Develop policy and strategy that seeks to embed Aboriginal cultural awareness and knowledge throughout our organisation
  • Develop and leverage relationships, partnerships and networks between us and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations, communities and relevant government departments
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Social Policy, Community Development, Social Sciences, Community Services or relevant equivalent experience
  • A strong profile, reputation and networks in the local community
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders
  • Knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories
