The primary focus of this role is to ensure that our procurement practices align with our organizational sustainability goals.

  • Sustainable Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive sustainable procurement strategy, ensuring alignment with our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) commitments.
  • Supplier Engagement: Collaborate with suppliers to educate and motivate them to set and achieve emissions reductions targets in line with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
  • Emissions Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze supplier emissions data, providing guidance on measurement methodologies and identifying reduction opportunities.

This specialist will work closely with cross-functional teams to support the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives. They will also contribute to the identification of process improvement opportunities within the procurement team and assist in formulating and executing strategic initiatives and category plans to align with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sustainable procurement policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to develop and implement supplier engagement strategies.
  • Analyze and report on supplier emissions data and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives across the organization.
  • Support the procurement team in embedding sustainability into procurement processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing sustainable procurement practices.
  • Knowledge of sustainability reporting frameworks and standards.
  • Strong capabilities in data management, analysis, and reporting using primarily Excel.
  • Proven ability to think strategically and implement initiatives that enhance procurement alignment with organizational sustainability goals.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and drive results.
  • Ability to efficiently handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities while delivering high-quality results.
