Job Description:We are seeking a full-time culinary professional to assist in the kitchen at our signature restaurant. The role involves supporting the head chef in maintaining a smooth operation and ensuring the delivery of high-quality dishes.
- Collaborate with the head chef to ensure efficient kitchen workflow.
- Maintain mise en place for all relevant menus, adhering to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
- Monitor food production closely, guaranteeing consistency and adherence to hotel standards.
- Ensure that every dish meets exacting quality criteria and complies with established protocols.
- Prioritize stock rotation and minimize wastage, assisting with inventory management as needed.
- Familiarize yourself with and comply with all WHS and food safety regulations.
- Provide exceptional service and communicate guest feedback effectively to the team.
To succeed in this role, you must have a minimum of 1 year's experience as a junior chef in a reputable establishment with rigorous food quality standards. You should possess proficiency in operating various kitchen equipment and demonstrate sound cooking techniques. A Chef Apprenticeship or Certificate in commercial cookery is desirable, along with good knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices, including safe and accurate knife skills. Familiarity with diverse cooking methods, willingness to work varied shifts, and ability to function autonomously and within a team are also essential qualities.
