Job Summary

The Director of Health and Safety will lead a high-performing team to champion safety excellence across diverse operations, driving zero fatalities and serious injuries.

Main Responsibilities

  • Direct a regional Health and Safety team to deliver objectives and drive continuous improvement.
  • Partner with the Regional Lead Team to ensure key risks are understood, incidents are addressed, and compliance requirements are met.
  • Identify and act on high-risk areas and processes to improve safety outcomes.
  • Drive the implementation of global and regional H&S initiatives.
  • Share best practices and learnings across sites and regions.
  • Contribute to the evolution of global H&S strategies and programs.
  • Provide governance oversight and opportunities for improvement.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and emerging risks within the region.

Requirements

  • A relevant degree holder with a track record of working in Health and Safety leadership roles.
  • Experience working across multiple locations within the mining/metals industry or heavy industry.
  • Knowledge of fatality prevention programs and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to influence and communicate at all levels of an organisation to drive strategic objectives.
