The Australian Defence Force is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health Manager to join their team.

Job Summary

This role requires an individual with expertise in environmental health and sanitation, as well as the ability to work independently in operational environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that environmental health and sanitation standards are met within the constraints of the operational context.

About the Role

As an Environmental Health Manager, you will be responsible for providing advice on strategies to control hazards to health and developing control strategies to minimize adverse health impacts. You will also be required to conduct assessments of Defence work areas and processes, both locally and overseas.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop specialized Ground Defence skills and knowledge to perform your duties in an operational environment. You may also be employed in disaster support roles, providing environmental health advice and support to deployed forces and affected populations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing and implementing control strategies to minimize adverse health impacts
  • Conducting assessments of Defence work areas and processes
  • Providing advice on strategies to control hazards to health
  • Working independently in operational environments
  • Collaborating with other teams to ensure environmental health and sanitation standards are met
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of environmental health and sanitation principles
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to work independently in operational environments
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel
Salary Information

The salary for this role is estimated to be around $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
