About the Opportunity

Job Overview: As a Chief Software Architect on our Enterprise Platform team at Tyro, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our digital payments ecosystem. With over 600 staff and $34 billion in transactions, we are a leader in credit, debit, and EFTPOS card acquiring. Our platform enables businesses to accept various payment methods, providing them with seamless and secure transactions.

We're seeking an exceptional software engineer who can lead the design, development, and deployment of high-quality scalable code. You will work closely with designers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define and execute on our vision and values.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, write, test, review, and deploy high-quality scalable code that meets our standards for security, reliability, performance, and quality.
  • Contribute throughout the delivery life cycle, from inception to production, through planning, development, and testing.
  • Drive improvements to our standards of security, reliability, performance, and quality.
  • Translate technical skills within a cross-functional team to influence other developers, product managers, designers, and senior managers.
  • Uphold and contribute to Tyro's strong risk culture by complying with policies, completing mandatory training, and identifying and managing risks within daily work.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Proven working experience in Java/Kotlin/Nodejs or other object-oriented languages.
  • Experience with standard web technologies, JavaScript (ReactJS, NodeJS).
  • Experience with Cloud-based development and DevOps practices (AWS, ECS, ECR, S3, Lambda etc).
  • Solid experience across the board with a strong depth of back-end knowledge.
  • Experience with building services and APIs.
  • Experience with agile software development methodologies.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code and continuous delivery.
  • Understanding of good architecture.
  • A collaborative approach to working together with other engineers, product managers, and UX designers.
Perks & Benefits:

We offer an attractive salary range of AU$120,000 - AU$180,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including flexible working environment, learning and development opportunities, 16 weeks paid primary carers leave, 12 weeks paid secondary carers leave, annual team-based volunteer day, novated leasing, social events, and many more perks.
