About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Operations Systems Specialist to join our team at Virgin Australia. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing expert-level support and guidance on our core airline operational systems, specifically the Integrated Operations Centre and Flight Operations systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and support on the configuration and testing of our airline operational systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and translate business requirements into effective solutions.
  • Ensure our systems are set up to support operations teams and enhance operational capability.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with system vendors and stakeholders.
  • Manage system version upgrades and releases, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Business Management, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 2-5 years' experience in a systems role, such as System Analyst, Business Analyst, or Systems Support Specialist.
  • Extensive experience with system configuration and testing.
  • Proven experience in managing system version upgrades and releases.
  • Demonstrated ability to define business requirements and translate them to effective solutions.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Familiarity with highly regulated and safety-focused environments.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management ability.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Proficient in using systems utilized by the Integrated Operations Centre and Flight Operations, particularly Movement Manager.
  • Previous experience in a flight operations role.
  • Experience working in a Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) regulated environment.
  • Proven experience in solution design and/or development.
