Job Description

The Senior Manager Operational Risk plays a crucial role in ensuring the bank actively manages, escalates, and resolves risks according to our risk management framework. This position requires collaboration with senior leaders across business, technology, and risk areas to manage routine and major project-related risks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Designing, reviewing, and delivering operational risk assurance to align with strategy, business outcomes, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Oversight of control design and implementation, recurring risks and controls review, and resilience assurance to support APRA notification and consultation.
  • Contributing to the development of an effective Operational Risk Management Framework, including incident and issue management, controls assessment, independent assurance, and advisory reviews.
  • Representing second-line risk at risk forums, management risk committees, project working groups, and steering committees.
  • Preparing reports to inform decision-making for key stakeholders.
  • Providing second-line challenge and oversight on operational risk and governance frameworks.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 10 years' experience in risk management roles.
  • Experience managing and influencing multiple stakeholders to meet competing priorities and non-aligned expectations.
  • Ability to build strong relationships to communicate good risk management practices.
  • Knowledge of relevant financial services regulatory considerations.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to deliver solutions to risk issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
