Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a Field Service Technician to work in a dynamic team. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and completing repairs to engines at customer sites.

The ideal candidate will have an Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Cert III) or equivalent qualification, with basic level of workshop or field service experience. They will also have knowledge of engine products and heavy vehicle experience is preferred.

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, has excellent communication skills, and is able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will need to be able to travel extensively throughout the region, often on short notice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and complete repairs to engines at customer sites
  • Perform preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on engine and related components in the field
  • Escalate unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor
  • Complete required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens
  • Identify additional service opportunities with customer
  • Complete training in line with skill and business requirements
Requirements
  • Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Cert III) or equivalent
  • Basic level of workshop or field service experience
  • Knowledge of engine products
  • Heavy Vehicle Experience preferred

  • Health and Safety Fundamentals - Champions and models proactive health and safety behaviors
  • Diagnostics Application - Translates customer complaints to develop troubleshooting plan
  • Electronic Service Tool Application - Identifies the suite of available hardware and software tools required for a service event
  • Engine Systems Interactions - Interprets and analyzes the interactions of internal and external electrical and mechanical systems
  • Product Repair and Maintenance - Repairs and maintains mechanical/electrical products following guidelines
  • Service Documentation - Creates and verifies customer, equipment and technical information
  • Technical Escalation - Obtains product technical issue information and utilizes available resources
What We Offer
  • Full Time / 38 hours per week
  • On Call Roster 1 week per month
  • Overtime as required – Penalty rates paid for all work above 38 hours
