Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Coordinator to join our team at Western Sydney University Hawkesbury Village. This full-time permanent role will involve delivering facilities and building maintenance services to ensure a safe and secure environment for all building occupants and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the overall maintenance of apartments, common areas, and building exterior
  • Perform general repairs such as plumbing, electrical, plant, and machinery, light bulb changes, painting, plastering, and carpentry
  • Communicate with contractors and understand the workings of all equipment
  • Obtain written quotes for approval by the University, where required
  • Obtain all warranties and operations manuals for all plant equipment
  • Establish systems and procedures to facilitate preventative maintenance programs, including selection of suppliers and support systems, meeting budget and standard requirements as set by management
Requirements
  • Similar experience within student accommodation or hospitality industry
  • Trade qualification will be highly regarded
  • Confident computer skills, including ability to use various systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • A 'safety first' mindset and an understanding of basic OH&S principles and chemical handling
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • A positive, can-do attitude
  • Valid Australian Drivers Licence and reliable vehicle
  • NSW Working with Children's Check (WWCC)
  • Current National Police Check (or willing to obtain)
  • Valid work rights in Australia
