Job Overview

Western Power seeks a diligent and resourceful Corporate Surveillance Officer to manage the daily security operations, enterprise-wide surveillance, access control, and incident management related events.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize onsite Security Management and Safety Systems to monitor the security and safety of Western Power facilities and respond to various security-related events.
  • Manage intricate alarm and access control systems to ensure maximum security at all locations.
  • Investigate and manage security/criminal offences that occur against Western Power assets.
  • Handle general and specialized queries efficiently and escalate where required.
  • Maintain intricate records and logging of events to ensure the integrity of all surveillance data.
  • Generate detailed security and surveillance reports based on security incidents that have occurred within the network.
  • Assist with data analytics involving trend analysis and intelligence gathering to support senior security decisions.
  • Act as the on-duty senior security officer for all Western Power operations.
  • Assist the security officer team in all matters of physical and electronic security.
  • Monitor and report on security and system issues and contribute to the improvement of integrated systems.

Requirements:

  • Minimum five years demonstrated previous experience in a corporate surveillance role with security operations.
  • Adequate comprehension and English skills with good level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well alone and in a team and concentrate throughout day/night shifts.
  • Ability to deal calmly with emergency situations.
  • Practical skills to operate cameras and recording equipment with knowledge of access control and alarm systems.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of all information.
  • High-level observation skills and situational awareness.
  • Work within a 24/7 rotating roster covering 365 days a year.
  • Understanding of related legislation such as Security Control Act, Criminal Code etc.
  • Knowledge and experience in the Australian energy sector.
  • Certificate 2 in Security Operations.
  • Senior First Aid Certificate.
  • Construction White Card.
  • Full WA Drivers Licence.
  • WA Certificate of Education or equivalent.

Key Skills and Qualifications

As a Corporate Surveillance Officer, you will require strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. You must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and provide exceptional customer service.

The ideal candidate will possess a Certificate 2 in Security Operations, Senior First Aid Certificate, Construction White Card, Full WA Drivers Licence, and WA Certificate of Education or equivalent.
