Geotechnical Professional Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in delivering innovative solutions in the tailings dam environment.

This exciting opportunity involves applying geotechnical expertise to create, build, and lead within a high-performing unit of the Residue Operations team. You will support civil construction projects with geotechnical insight and precision, collaborating closely with the Project Superintendent and broader team to ensure safe, effective outcomes.

You will be responsible for leading geotechnical investigations, assessments, and designs that drive project success. This includes building technical reports and recommendations that influence construction and operational decisions, as well as managing geotechnical risks and contributing to innovative, practical solutions in a tailings dam setting.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply geotechnical expertise to deliver innovative solutions in the tailings dam environment.
  • Create, build, and lead within a high-performing unit of the Residue Operations team.
  • Support civil construction projects with geotechnical insight and precision.
  • Lead geotechnical investigations, assessments, and designs that drive project success.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Degree qualification in Civil, Geotechnical, or Mine Engineering.
  • Experience in geotechnical/tailings dam design, construction, and/or operation.
  • Strong understanding of internationally recognised tailings management standards and best practice guidelines.
  • Thorough comprehension of soil and tailings characterisation.
  • Strong skills in tailings operation and monitoring systems.

Apart from these core requirements, we seek professionals who possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
