Public Relations and Events Specialist Role

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to fill the position of Public Relations and Events Specialist.

  • This role requires an individual with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in public relations or marketing. A tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as PR, Marketing, or Journalism is also required.

The Public Relations and Events Specialist will be responsible for delivering our annual PR event, managing relationships with media and content creators, and coordinating product PR and kit send-outs. They will also administer PR activities and related tasks, working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering large-scale events and activations across the business, including internal conferences, supplier events, and media events.
  • Liaising with PR agencies, including weekly meetings, internal logistics, approvals, time management, and post-implementation reviews.
  • Managing PR activity for Wesfarmers Health initiatives.
  • Coordinating product PR and kit send-outs.
  • Developing relationships with media and content creators.
  • Administering PR activities and related tasks.

Ideal Candidate
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Tertiary qualification in PR, Marketing, or Journalism; or equivalent Business degree.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute large events and strong organizational skills.
  • Understanding of the media landscape – traditional, online and social.
  • Experience in writing media releases, creating news hooks and compelling content.
  • Ability to influence at all levels and liaise with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects under tight deadlines; creative, energetic, and proactive.
