Key Responsibilities:- Examine technical drawings, work orders, and sample parts to determine specifications and requirements.
- Select and work with various materials, such as timber, veneers, particle board, and synthetic wood, to create high-quality cabinetry.
- Mark out, cut, and shape wood to precise specifications.
- Work from drawings and specifications to manufacture furniture, including cabinets, shelves, and other wood fittings.
- Assemble parts to form sections of furniture and completed articles, ensuring precise fit and finish.
- Fitting hinges, locks, catches, drawers, and shelves to create functional and aesthetically pleasing cabinetry.
- Design and create frames for chairs and couches, requiring attention to detail and precision.
- May repair and refurbish furniture and antiques, demonstrating expertise and craftsmanship.
- At least 1 year of work experience as a Cabinetmaker.
- A relevant AQF Certificate III in Cabinet Making or higher qualification, or 3 years of relevant work experience to substitute for the qualification.
- English language proficiency: IELTS score of 5.0 overall, and minimum of IELTS score 4.0 for individual bands.
