The successful candidate will lead a team of researchers in the development of innovative solutions to invasive species challenges. This involves overseeing a growing portfolio of projects across both invasive pests and weeds.

  • Lead a dynamic team with five direct reports that are well regarded in the industry and dedicated to making a real difference to environmental management.
  • Represent the organization on major national projects, government forums, and working groups.

Develop and implement effective strategies to address invasive species challenges, working collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve shared goals.

Requirements
  • A PhD or Masters Degree in a relevant field, equipping you with the ability to assess complex scientific concepts.
  • Knowledge of invasive animals and/or weeds, and their impacts and control options in Australia.
  • Excellent project management skills, including governance, reporting, and budget management.
  • Relationship-building skills, particularly with government and industry partners.
