Job Overview:

The role of Lead Health, Safety is a pivotal position requiring an expert professional to spearhead health, safety, and environmental excellence across operations.

  • This position demands technical acumen, sound judgment, and the ability to influence at all levels.
  • As a Lead HSE Advisor, you will collaborate closely with Program Managers supporting ADF Ground Support Equipment and Counter-CBRNE contracts.
  • You will be instrumental in developing and implementing HSE protocols tailored to specialized operational contexts, ensuring alignment with Defence and Commonwealth standards.

In this capacity, you will provide guidance on HSE considerations throughout the asset lifecycle—from capability planning and procurement to sustainment—ensuring safety and environmental controls are integrated into every phase.

  • You will lead toolbox talks, mentor operational teams, and partner with stakeholders to foster a proactive, learning-focused safety culture.
  • To succeed, you must be an Australian Citizen with a Defence security clearance or the ability to obtain one, holding an AQF Level 4 Qualification or Equivalent in Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental Risk Management, previous experience in a similar role, preferably within Defence or other high-risk industries.
