About the Role

Townsville Catholic Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Instrumental Music Tutor to join our team. This part-time, fixed-term position will see you working across three Townsville schools, providing individual and small group instrumental music tuition to students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a program of study for individual students or groups, prioritizing relevant syllabus, student goals, and skill level.
  • Monitor student progress, report to parents, and prepare students for external exams and performances.
  • Identify emerging issues and mitigate risks impacting student progress and achievement.
  • Provide written reports to parents and the Instrumental Coordinator.
Typical Duties
  • Provide instrumental music tuition to individual or small groups of students.
  • Prepare students for external exams and performances, including Eisteddfod, concerts, and liturgies.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and liaise with parents regarding absences.
  • Develop student timetables and schedules.
  • Collaborate with other staff and the Instrumental Coordinator to promote the music program within the school and externally.
Requirements
  • Diploma or degree qualification with relevant experience or other acceptable qualifications.
  • Current Working with Children Suitability Card.
  • Current Driver's Licence.
  • Ability to travel within the Catholic Diocese of Townsville.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
