Trade Development Position

We have an exciting opportunity for a professional to work in a truly global environment assisting senior traders with key commercial decisions.

This includes sourcing coffee from producing countries, reporting to management, and working towards long-term development potential in the fast-paced commodities industry.

Our Team

Our team provides expertise spanning procurement and preparation, sustainability, blending, quality control, risk management, and export, as well as importing and distribution.

We provide services to major coffee roasters and retail distributors, with significant strategic growth ambitions for the future.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist senior traders with key commercial decisions, including sourcing coffee from producing countries.
  • Develop and maintain commercial relationships worldwide to support market presence.
  • Support in negotiating contracts, including pricing, quality, delivery, and specifications.
  • Contribute to the development of commercial strategies aimed at growing the customer base.
  • Ensure timely execution of contracts and deliveries under the guidance of senior traders.
  • Collaborate with the logistics team to coordinate shipments and deliveries.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in economics, business administration, agronomy, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in learning about trade and the global supply chain.
  • Some knowledge or experience in agriculture, commodities, or international trade would be beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills and an eagerness to develop commercial acumen.
  • Strong proficiency in spoken and written English. Additional languages (e.g., Portuguese, Spanish, or French) would be an advantage but are not essential.
  • Willingness to travel locally and internationally as required for business needs.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small team.
  • Interest in product quality assurance, including evaluating and learning how to assess product samples.
