The Assistant Director Risk Assurance is a pivotal role within the Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Enterprise team, driving impactful WHS risk assurance programs across the department.

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead nationally significant projects, shaping safety practices and enhancing workplace safety and compliance.

Main Responsibilities

">
  • ">
  • Lead a small team to build capability and provide high-quality advice on complex WHS issues">
  • Communicate effectively with diverse audiences and build key stakeholder relationships">
  • Design and implement the WHS Risk Assurance Management Plan and Critical Risks Project">
  • Manage WHS software (Evotix) and oversee hazard and incident reporting, risk management, and audit processes">
  • Analyse WHS trends to inform proactive safety campaigns and future priorities">
  • Develop and monitor risk assurance initiatives, including WHS risk registers, and ensure timely completion of corrective actions from audits">
  • Support WHS strategy by aligning risk assurance efforts with departmental goals and providing regular updates on progress">

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • ">
  • Proven experience in hazard and risk management at both enterprise and operational levels">
  • Experience in developing and implementing WHS risk assurance programs">
  • Minimum of five years' experience in a WHS leadership or management role">
  • Tertiary qualifications in health, risk management, or work health and safety would be highly regarded">
