
Regional Compliance Leader

The Regional Compliance Leader is a critical role that oversees the compliance function across multiple regions. This position offers significant autonomy and collaboration with local Compliance Managers to ensure robust, adaptable, and effective compliance arrangements.
This role reports directly to the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer and engages with commercial stakeholders across the organization. The goal is to foster a responsive, pragmatic, and commercially astute approach that aligns seamlessly with strategic objectives and risk appetite.
As the Regional Compliance Leader, you will champion a culture of compliance throughout the organization. Your expertise will be invaluable in making decisions regarding regulatory and compliance matters specific to your region, upholding the integrity and reputation of the organization through exceptional leadership and guidance.
- Compliance Strategy: Develop and execute a regional compliance strategy aligned with the organization's vision, purpose, values, and goals.
- Compliance Function Management: Lead, manage, and develop the regional compliance function, setting consistent standards and providing business-oriented risk solutions.
- Process Improvement: Drive performance, improvement, and efficiency in compliance processes using technology and data.
- Regulatory Risk Management: Manage regulatory risk, ensuring compliance with local regulations and global requirements, and aligning with risk appetite.
- Legislative and Regulatory Requirements: Identify, assess, and mitigate the impact of legislative and regulatory requirements, and assist with their implementation.
- Framework Application: Guide local compliance in the application of frameworks and act as the escalation point for MLROs.
- Global Program Management: Co-manage the global Transaction Monitoring Program and Financial Crime Framework.
- Risk Register Review: Oversee and update the global Compliance Risk Register and participate in risk register reviews.
- Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and develop team members across multiple jurisdictions.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with the ERM team on business processes, controls, and GRC matters.
- Policies and Procedures: Review and refresh global compliance policies in collaboration with the CRCO.
- Initiatives and Projects: Work on initiatives and projects with global compliance, leveraging best practices and standards.
We are looking for a highly skilled professional with a minimum of 10 years of regulatory compliance experience, including OTC derivatives issuer (CFD's, leveraged FX) and AML/CTF experience in the financial services industry across multiple regions and over 2 years of managing a team.
You must have proven experience working under various licences such as AU (AFSL licence), Dubai (DFSA licence), Kenya (CMA licence) and Bahamas (SCB licence). Strong understanding of the financial services and AML/CTF regulatory environment and licensing regimes is essential.
A strong understanding of compliance management principles and industry best practice is required, along with proven leadership and communications skills, a track record of success, and achieving results while effectively advising the business on compliance matters.
Candidates should be comfortable functioning in a rapidly changing environment where real-time compliance advice and guidance are required. Demonstrated strategic thinking and time management skills are also necessary.
Furthermore, well-developed interpersonal and influencing skills, demonstrated ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships, and collaborate with multiple teams across functions and geographies are required.
Regulatory knowledge or experience in multiple jurisdictions will be an advantage, and current and appropriate working rights in Australia are necessary.
