About the Role

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Carpentry Apprentice.

This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to develop their skills in the carpentry trade.

The successful candidate will have the chance to work on a variety of projects, including new home builds, renovations, and commercial projects.

As a Carpentry Apprentice with East Coast Apprenticeships, you will be working full-time, 40 hours per week, with a rostered day off each month.

  • You will have the opportunity to study drawings and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions, and installation procedures.
  • Measure materials and use a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Carry out calculations, order and select timbers and materials, and prepare layouts.
  • Cut materials, assemble and nail cut and shaped parts, erect framework and roof framing, lay sub-flooring and floorboards, and verify trueness of structures.
  • Nail fascia panels, sheath roofs, and fit exterior wall cladding and door and window frames.
  • Assemble prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready to install.
  • Cut wood joints and may construct concrete formwork.
  • May repair existing fittings and work with plastic laminates, Perspex, and metals.

To be considered for this role, you must have a strong interest in construction, a White Card, a current Drivers License, and a commitment to developing your skills in the carpentry trade.
