
Indigenous Health Specialist

As a key player in Indigenous health, we are seeking an experienced Senior Advisor to provide strategic guidance and support our mission of improving the well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with Indigenous communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to advance our organization's goals. They will also provide expert advice on policy and program development related to Indigenous health, collaborate with colleagues to identify and address health inequities, and represent the organization at conferences and meetings.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Indigenous communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders;
- Provide strategic advice on policy and program development related to Indigenous health;
- Collaborate with colleagues to identify and address health inequities and promote cultural safety;
- Represent the organization at conferences, meetings, and seminars to advance Indigenous health priorities;
- Develop and implement evidence-based programs and services that improve health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Masters degree in a relevant field (e.g., public health, Indigenous studies, social work);
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in Indigenous health or a related field;
- Proven track record of developing and implementing effective policies and programs;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret complex data and develop evidence-based solutions;
- Cultural competence and understanding of Indigenous Australian cultures and histories.
