The role of the Mental Health Specialist is to provide services relating to the wellbeing of students. This position requires initiative, discretion, expertise, and varying levels of confidentiality in dealing with matters of importance to the psychological and emotional wellbeing of students.

As a specialist in mental health, you will work to facilitate access, participation, and maximize educational outcomes for students. You will also utilize your expertise to support and build the capacity of the school community towards the same goals.

A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of adolescent mental health is essential for this role. You are expected to demonstrate expertise in working with families and staff to support the mental health and wellbeing of all students in our care.

To be successful in this position, you must hold appropriate professional qualifications and maintain membership of a relevant professional body. A commitment to the ethos, values, and mission of Catholic Education is also required.
