Role Description">Support Junior School Learning

The role of the Educational Assistant involves providing support to students in the Junior School, helping them develop essential skills and knowledge. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to make a positive impact on the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver small-group interventions in literacy and numeracy to help students achieve their full potential.
  • Work with individual children to develop social, emotional, or behavioral skills as needed, promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist the Junior School Office with tasks such as delivering messages to teachers and students, collecting students as required, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Contribute to the development and location of teaching resources to support teachers working with students with diverse needs.
Requirements
  • A high level of literacy and numeracy skills, with strong attention to detail, organisation, and time management.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, along with proficiency in computer software including Microsoft Office, Excel, and Adobe Suite.
  • Ability to engage with students of all ages compassionately and empathetically, while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
  • A high level of integrity, patience, discretion, and confidentiality are essential for this role.
  • Certificate III or IV in Educational Support or equivalent is highly desirable, as is experience or qualifications in Special Education, Inclusion, or Learning Support.
