About this Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Pact Group Contract Manufacturing Division as a Maintenance Fitter. The duties for the role include:

  • Playing a lead role in all day-to-day operations
  • Coaching and mentoring of maintenance technicians and line setters
  • Supervision of external contractors
  • Preventative maintenance on machines and equipment
  • Responding to emergency machine break downs throughout the plant
  • Involvement with new design, installation, and movements of existing machines
  • Overhaul and repair of machines and equipment

Your Key Responsibilities

  • To adhere to APMs safety obligations in accordance with OH&S legislation
  • Improving and modifying machinery to improve productivity and quality of product
  • Design, promote, and carry out preventative maintenance
  • Ensure all machines are safe and fit for purpose
  • Installation of new machines and equipment
  • Overhaul and upkeep and repair of all plant machines
  • Review and advise on engineering requirements and drawings
  • Actively promote safe working practices
  • Work with and coordinate contractors
  • Undertake repairs and servicing to the highest standard in accordance with work requests and predetermined specifications
  • Fault finding, testing, and the removal or adjustment of existing fittings, fixtures, and parts
  • Where a detailed specification is not provided, determine the cause of the fault and then undertake the most cost-effective solution to remedy the defect
  • Effective communication – keeping management and relevant parties aware and seeking advice and assistance when required
  • Train and assess line setters and maintenance technicians
  • Able to set up the capper machine when required
