Automation Specialist

Objective:
- To manage and maintain automation systems for optimal performance and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with design engineers, operation engineers, and purchasers to ensure seamless project execution.
- Start-up and testing of microprocessor-based control components, including PLC and DDC controllers, sensors, actuators, transducers, and associated devices.
- Understand construction schedules and manage QA/QC checklists and commissioning logs to ensure compliance.
- Interpret Sequence of Operations (SOO) and apply it to program logic to achieve desired outcomes.
- Read and write code ladder logic, structured text, and function block programming to configure automation systems.
- Mentor and train Automation Technicians I and II's in the implementation of automation systems.
- Lead medium to large-scale projects from planning to execution, ensuring timely completion and within budget.
- Point-to-point checkout of wiring and components for proper grounding, polarity, communication, and power to prevent equipment damage.
- Set up and calibrate input and output devices such as temperature sensors, pressure transducers, etc. to ensure accurate data collection.
- Upload, download, and modify control software and programs to optimize system performance.
- Configure and troubleshoot automation networks and communication protocols to ensure seamless data exchange.
- Identify and troubleshoot complex HVAC and Electrical systems, including psychometrics, refrigeration, building pressure controls, life safety systems, EPMS, process controls, steam heating, humidification, and de-humidification, and central heating and cooling systems.
- Create and implement Automation System graphics and dashboards to enhance user experience and monitor system performance.
Requirements:
- Four (4) to Seven (7) years of experience in automation-related fields.
- Associate degree in Electronic, Technology, or Automation-related field or equivalent on-the-job experience.
- Valid driver's license to facilitate travel to job sites.
Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills with effective oral and written communication.
- Ability to take direction and fulfill commitments while maintaining a strong work ethic.
- Value and support company mission and culture by demonstrating honesty, integrity, sound reasoning, good judgment, and leadership.
- Understanding of construction site safety and high awareness of surroundings to prevent accidents.
- Effectively prioritize tasks and balance short-term and long-term responsibilities to meet deadlines.
