
Pharmacy Preparation Specialist

A Pharmacy Fill Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of prescription preparation.
- Pull/pick medications from shelving and other medication storage areas, verifying their authenticity before presenting them to the pharmacist for verification.
- Perform an accuracy check on final preparations prior to pharmacist verification.
- Fulfill daily drug orders with precision and speed, adhering to established protocols under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Assist in processing returned drugs and disposing of expired or damaged medications according to established procedures.
- Participate in pre-packing frequently ordered medications, labeling and restocking as needed during low-volume periods.
- Manually package materials and products while maintaining high standards of quality control.
- Comply with relevant government regulations, including HIPAA, to ensure confidentiality and data security.
- Maintain clean and organized workstation areas, replenishing supplies as necessary to optimize productivity.
- Alert the pharmacist on duty regarding any medication or product that fails to scan correctly.
- Adhere to departmental policies governing safety, attendance, and dress code.
- Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Pharmacy technician licenses/certifications are mandatory and dictated by state regulations.
- Previous pharmacy experience is required; one or more years of long-term care experience is preferred.
- Demonstrate knowledge of brand name/generic medications.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Able to perform tasks at a moderate speed.
- Will work in various weather conditions.
- Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Capable of performing light lifting duties.
