Support Specialist

Our ideal candidate will be based in or around the Central Coast, including:
Gosford, Woy Woy, Ettalong, Umina Beach, Erina, Terrigal, Bateau Bay, The Entrance, Tuggerah, Wyong, Noraville, Hamlyn Terrace, or surrounding areas.
About the Role
The Support Specialist will provide high-quality support with people living with complex trauma, challenging behaviors, and/or high physical / clinical needs, aligning with their individual program plan.
This role is responsible for providing responsive and person-centered support to assist participants enhance their everyday living skills, gain access and participation in community to achieve their goals, enhance their quality of life and physical and mental health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting clients with personal care, community access, and daily routines
- Working in participants' homes or in our purpose-built Vertical Villages (SIL/SDA)
- Managing complex needs including behaviors of concern, trauma, forensic backgrounds, and high clinical needs
- Administering medication and following detailed health support plans
- Implementing behavior support plans and using de-escalation techniques
- Providing meaningful, person-centred care to NDIS participants
- Collaborating with clinicians, case workers, and families
Requirements
You will thrive in this role by bringing the following experience and qualifications:
- Minimum 6 months' experience in disability, aged care, mental health, or related fields
- Certificate III/IV/Diploma in Disability, Individual Support, Aged Care, or similar (preferred)
- Experience supporting people with mental illness, high physical needs, and behaviors of concern
- Demonstrated experience with high physical and clinical needs, including medication administration
- Strong understanding of professional boundaries, restrictive practices, and behavior support
- Effective written and verbal communication, including clear case note writing
- Able to set priorities, meet deadlines, and work under pressure with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills to work both autonomously and as part of a team
- NDIS Worker Screening, First Aid, Driver's Licence, and insured vehicle
